There is a bus that runs from downtown where the cruise tenders come in
out to 7-Mile Beach. It runs about $8.00 (I forget if this is for each
way or the $8.00 covers the return trip.) An important note. The bus
driver will wait until the bus is full before returning to town. It is
better to return when several people are returning than wait until the
last minute. The ship I was on gave us really big towels for the beach,
so I didn't bother looking to see if beach chairs were available. If a
cab is taken, be sure to establish a pick-up time and location with the
driver. It's best to plan on getting back to Georgetown well before the
last tender returns to the ship. If shopping for souvenirs is desired
it's best to plan enough time to do that upon return to Georgetown. The
high-end thing to buy is Tanzanite Jewelry. It used to be very
reasonable but cruise ships constantly stopping in Grand Cayman has
driven the price up. Price wise you'd probably do better on QVC, still
some bargains can be had if you look hard enough.
