Been a member of CruiseCritic.com since 2002 and have never received any
spam from their advertisers or from them.
The only email I get from them is notification that someone has posted
to a thread i have subscribed to, which I signed up for.
Oops almost forgot, they sent me an email for my birthday too, as did
Cruisemates.com

I have seen many derogatory post about every cruise line there is on
CruiseCritic. I have never seen them pulled unless they turn into a
giant argument amongst the posters.

And yes they don't allow shills or even any mention of any travel agents
good or bad. This is a bad thing in my opinion but a necessary evil .
