As for any hotels in Woodbridge, or Avenel I wouldn't want to have to
deal with morning traffic on Rt1. The traffic on Rt1 is bad in both
directions in the morning and evening rush times. Also several of the
motels along Rt. 1 in Elizabeth, Linden, Rahway and Avenel are "adult"
hooker motels. Some are obvious advertising "Mirrored Ceiling",
"Waterbed", "In Room Adult Movies", hourly rates and some are a little
more subtle. They only give themselves away by the heavy turn over of
cars and outrageously low room rates some as low as $15.00 But I suspect
that is an hourly.
Woodbridge area near Woodbridge Mall has some more legit hotels, but
once again, I wouldn't want to battle the traffic.
Now, if Ermalee doesn't mind spending the money, the Marriott in Newark
Liberty Airport at $400. per night is an excellent spot. I don't know
about long term parking though. The suite hotels I did mention that
are South of the airport and near Jersey Garden Mall do offer shuttle
service to the airport and the cruiseport. So those would be a good
choice, and in addition to TA they do come up on Hotels.com, Orbitz and
Travelocity.
