A week from tomorrow, over 50 people will be departing on a group cruise
from Galveston and most of them read this newsgroup.
As usual, the night before the cruise we will have a Bon Voyage Dinner and I
am inviting any readers of r.t.c. who will be in the Houston area to join
us.
The dinner will be Saturday night, October 28 at 6:30 PM at the Potatoe
Patch Restaurant http://potatoepatch.com/ which is about 10 miles from the
Houston Airport (IAH). We already have 40 people signed up for dinner and
will be arriving at the restaurant by chartered bus at 6:30.
This restaurant is an institution in the Houston area
and has some of the best home cooking (Texas/Southern style) I have ever had
and the prices are very reasonable. Take a look at the dinner menu

"pass-arounds" which include fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and they have
some of the best yeast rolls and muffins I have ever tasted.
Hint... try the Chicken Fried Steak.... or the Meatloaf..... and if you are
getting the Ribs, just the 1/2 rack is plenty. The Catfish is a treat and
if you are a steak lover, try the 12 oz Ribeye. No need to order ahead of
time... we will be ordering off the menu that night. You will not leave the
Potatoe Patch hungry.
