Had I been in your predicament I would not accept the cabin credit as a
sufficient payback for losing your balcony cabin (I'm not clear if you
were permanently moved or if you eventually moved back). Some people
simply don't spend that much money while aboard to make such a large
cabin credit useful and I've never heard of being refunded the unused
portion of a cabin credit after a cruise.
I might have used some of that very large cabin credit to make a phone
call or send an email to my travel agent to start communicating with
NCL *directly* while you were still aboard. I'd be asking for partial
refunds to my credit card before the cruise was even over.
Did you see the ship's doctor to treat the bug bites?
Finally, it is true that NYC hotels are having a bedbug problem. But
I've seen reports that it's a growing problem in many other cities, not
just NYC.
