Celebrity will never get those per diems in October, new ship or not.
Regent placed a ship on the Bermuda run a couple years ago and I don't think
they even got those kind of per diems. It was basically a failure. Bermuda
cruises are generally mass-market and placing an upscale ship on a 7-day
Bermuda run just doesn't work. People in this market are not willing to pay
the prices. My guess is this will be a one-time season for CELEBRITY
JOURNEY in Bermuda. It might be the only opportunity to sail on such a
premium ship in this market. No doubt she will be off to more exotic
itineraries in the years to follow. There is a good chance that Celebrity
will pull out of Bermuda all together after this season.
