I'll give you a dissenting view. Most people seem to really like the aft
facing cabins but I don't see the charm. I was on the same Conquest sailing
as Jean and had cabin 7440... the corner cabin with the big wrap-around
deck. Nice long deck, but the wind while the ship was moving was too much
to make the trip comfortable. The wind seems to whip around the rear of the
ship (I have found this on other ships as well). When in port... I am
usually ashore and not using the deck anyway.

Cabin 7440 was a disappointment to me. It is triangular shaped and to my
mind, not as comfortable as a standard cabin. No sofa, fewer drawers. The
closet was good with extra space there, but only one chair in teh cabin..
amd like I said, no sofa. For a cabin that commands higher prices, I
expected more. Next time I'll spring for the extra $$$ and get a category
11 (very nice) or save some money and stay in a standard balcony cabin.

Here is something to consider. Spend the day at Sunset Beach Resort... an
all-inclusive that is about a mile or so from the ship.
http://www.sunsetbeachresort.com/ They don't advertise this, but they have
day passes for cruise passengers. You pay $40 pp and get full run of the
place, everything included including drinks and food. The new waterpark is
a hoot... Becca even got me to go down one of the water slides. Cab fare
there is $3 pp each way. No vendors, no hassles, just nice pools, hot tubs,
beaches, food and drink.
