Our first trip to Jamaica was a land trip back in 1967. We rented a
car and drove all over the beautiful island, it was safe and the
people were very pleasant. Since then we have been on several cruises
that stopped in Jamaica and found it completly changed. I don't know
when you were there last, but just be careful and if you head out on
your own, go with a "safe" cab or a tour operator that has a good
reputation.
