It was that way for the GGC's where I was on a Committee, as I recall,
but I cannot say how it was handled in recent years for the GGC or the
SGC's. I'm not even positive that the cruise line rules for TA's permit
rebates of commissions or tour director cabins anymore. I'm sure that
someone will comment. In any event, I personally don't think it's fair
to ask when we ask so much of the TA's, such as the parties, etc. Back
in the early days, the TA did far less and good people like you planned
outside parties, onboard events (remember the pajama party you threw?).
The first GGC didn't even offer food or drink at its get-together,
where now a party with appetizers and drinks is paid by the TA (or
cruise line). As we began to asked more of the TA, it's my belief that
the rebate either disappeared or was merged and mitigated in the price
list for the cabins.
