True, We lost a bunch towards the very end in a typhoon. My Dad was in it in
a Minesweeper no less! The DMS Harding. She was later hit by a Kamikaze and
had to return to San Diego for extensive repairs which were not completed
before the war ended so she was scarpped. Nearly 1/4 of the crew were killed
in that attack.
