I took a first class trip from Chicago to Portland, Or. on the Empire
bulder in Feburary and the service was terrible they always seemed to
run out of beverages and the menu consisted of the same thing for 3 days
thats is if they even bothered to stock it n the first place. Amtrak
adverised that they stop and clean the train once during the trip
however the observation car windows were crusted ovr with grim! They
never washed the train as advertised ...Totally a horrible experience to
say the least!!
I came back from San Fransisco (
( Emeryville ) to Chicago with a even worst experience!! They lost our
baggage twice once going and cost us a day to wait at thier leisure to
have it shipped to us from Seattle, Wa. And coming back it the check on
baggage was lost for 13 days costing us a considerable amount to buy
clothes etc... Never caught up with our check in baggage till we
returned to Chicago, what a nightmare!! Also the aminities such as
advertised never existed for the most part. Personally i will never
travel Amtrak again EVER!!!
It was over priced and the crew was incompentent and laxadazical..
Totally a horrible horrible trip!!!!!!
