We'll be cruising on the Jewel for her one-week Eastern Caribbean
itinerary. In contrast to our usual deliberate decision-making, we
booked this cruise with remarkably little investigation. Our planned
trip over the holidays gave way to the need to move aging parents into
assisted living. So we looked for cruise dates that could be slotted
into our busy schedule, had no fixed meal times, and went to some
favorite destinations. The Jewel bubbled up to the top and we booked.
However, we really don't know too much about what to expect or how to
maximize our experience.
We are primarily looking for quiet relaxation. In the next two plus
weeks, we'll be downsizing my parents' possessions and moving them into
their new residence. When we walk onto that ship, we'll be looking for
ways to de-stress.
At the moment, I've got two specific questions...
Is there a quiet pool/deck area like the for-a-fee whirlpool deck on
Regatta or the Thalasso pools on Celebrity?
Any recommendations for/against the specialty restaurants? Are cruisers
allowed to dine more than once at the same for-a-fee restaurants?
Any other hints about enjoying this ship would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
