Hi Jean, The hotel across from The St. Marie that you mention not to
stay at on the corner is a Sheraton (on Bourbon St.). The leg on the
swing coming out of the window....I thought that was you and Erma taking
turns working off all that pre-Halloween candy :) I would take the
charm and character of the Hotel St. Marie over the Sheraton any day
hands down. I am so so happy we stayed there 3 days before our cruise.
The spirit and feeling of that hotel and city was just something I've
never experienced before or since. I'm almost afraid to go back and be
disappointed that it will not have that same feeling. Everyone told me
before I first went that NOLA casts a magical spell over eveyone who
enters it. I know some people are still trying to get their lives in
order and my vacation experience is not top priority. I would still
love to go back and experience it again someday.
