Bob,
I recommend going in a day before the cruise and staying at the Queen Mary
Hotel in Long Beach the night before your cruise.
We really enjoyed staying there pre- cruise and they have several nice
restaurants onboard...Ask to stay in the old rooms as it is a very
interesting experience...they have newer and renovated rooms but we chose
the old area for the ambiance. Quaint and different faucets and round
windows that open.. Nice little gift shop...We loved walking around that
grand old ship. What a way to begin your real cruise adventure!
I can't remember the cab fare, but they do have Primetime Shuttle and Super
Shuttle that you can make reservations on ahead of time..Primetime shows
$16. pp. and Super Shuttle is $17.pp from LAX to the Queen Mary.
