If you look closely, you will note that the hair
dryers on almost all ships are either (1) 240 volt
units (draw much less current) or (2) so wimpy
they are useless (low power).
Thoughtless, careless people are always around.
However, try using a travel iron in your room and
see how fast the lights go out.
