Last cruise on Carnival Freedom Eastern Med. out of Rome had wireless
internet throughout the ship ... Had the laptop set up on the desk in
the room and sent some pictures back home each night before
retiring ... I think this is the trend now ... The internet cafe quite
often was rather empty ...
Connection was not a problem .. although I had to turn off the netgear
wifi and use Microsoft ... For one used to using cable and T1
connections it seemed excruciatingly slow ... but is slightly better
than dial-up ...
It is expensive ... but look for deals they run early on and then
later on ... bring the cost down to about 0.30/ minute ... about half
the regular price for a plan ...

Previous cruise on the NCL Crown to Bermuda had only a couple of hot
spots ...but even the Owner's Suite was dark (ah another chance to
mention that ... :-) ) older ship ... It was not convenient lugging
the lap top ...
