Subject: Another Question about Internet Access Posted on: Thu, 21 Jun 2007 17:30:21 -0400

RCCL has an internet option called Cyber Cabin, which is supposed to be
unlimited dial-up access from the cabin. On a 7-day cruise, the cost is
$100. According to their website, the only thing you need is a dial-up
modem on your laptop

Has anyone had any experience with this? In particular, I am wondering
about response time. If you have a standard 56K internal modem on your
laptop, do you get response time comparable to what you get in the home with
dial-up access? How does the access compare to what you get on board with
wireless access from the "hot spots"?

Also, is the access limited to normal internet http protocols and email, or
can you also do things like telnet and ftp?
