I don't worry about it too much.
My grandson tried to pack for me the way he was taught in Scouts which was by
rolling things. But I had some denim dresses that were quite bulky when rolled
and made the suitcase lumpy for everything else..
I haven't ironed anything in years because I buy stuff that doesn't wrinkle
(knits) or things like seersucker that have built in wrinkles because I know
that I am a terrible packer, and I don't want to spend time thinking about it
except to be sure that I have everything that I need.
If by chance I have some item of woven cotton that will show wrinkles, I fold it
on the bottom, and then hang when I get on the ship ASAP.
And I don't own anything that has to be dry-cleaned or drip dried because dry
cleaning is too expensive, and after things are washed everything we have goes
in the dryer..
What I usually do is put as much small stuff into shoes as possible, and put
them and any heavy things in the bottom and then fold, roll and squish stuff
into the areas that are left and then sit on the suitcase. |
