And there are dozens of studies which refute those studies. It's the great
thing about science. Everyone has an opinion and if you look long enough you
will find someone who agrees with your point of view. That is why I used
words like FACTS and SCIENTIFIC PROOF. There is none, and you know that. So
you come off with this denial garbage and bring up other studies. Again we
could do this ALL DAY LONG. This study versus that study. Bottom line is
there is no SCIENTIFIC PROOF. As for what I believe? Well you made a huge
leap in ASSumption there Tom. My personal belief is that smoking causes the
risk for any number of diseases to increase exponentially. I don't happen to
believe that second hand smoke is anything more than a nuisance to
bystanders but I could be wrong. Would not be the first time.
Some FACTS about me. I do not smoke around non-smokers. I always ask before
I light up. I smoke in a designated room or outside at home so as not to
offend my family members. I have never been ask to put out a cigarette on a
ship's balcony but would have done so if asked nicely. I was ask once to not
smoke at a casino table on a ship and I honored that request. So all your
stereotyping of me is INCORRECT and speculatory. Just like the supposed
facts you use to argue your point.
And after all the yacking is done, it still comes down to this very simple
and basic FACT. Smoking is my RIGHT. You seek to remove that RIGHT from me.
And you do so expecting me not to fight back. Silly on your part given the
fact that you know I am a former Marine and rather passionate about fighting
for people's RIGHTS. I weight the benefits against the risks and make a
CHOICE. Yes that is correct. IT IS MY CHOICE TO MAKE not yours. When we get
past that, the arguements may reach a level of intelligent exchange. But as
long as you and others try to force away my RIGHTS then expect ressistence.
After all, this is the Land of the FREE!
