Atlantis, RSVP charter entire cruise ships. R Family Cruises also
charter entire ships. Ms. O'Donnell's policy is that all families are
welcome. But the cruise is predominantly LGBT (Lesbian, Gay,
Bi.ual, Transgendered) families. Since Atlantis and RSVP are fully
chartered, there aren't any state rooms available for booking without
going through these charter groups. I guess you would have to be
completely nonobservant to board a ship greeted by drag queens and
leather daddies without knowing it's a gay cruise. In other words this
is highly unlikely...booking a cruise and discovering you are on a gay
cruise after the ship pulls away from the dock. I gotta admit it sure
would be funny as an episode of "Rescue Me", or "King of Queens".
Back to that original question. Unless informed by a cruise rep during
a fam trip, I don't think that there is any way of knowing for sure the
average demographic for a cruise line's ships. You can get an idea of
who they are targeting in the cruise line's advertising images. But,
for any given sailing I don't think they collect that kind of data from
their booking data.
