Hi Lee,
The OP mentioning his comfort level being far from the ship, is why I
pointed out that with a ships excursion he wouldn't have to worry. Since
he has cruised before, IMO he might of thought of doing it on his own,
but who knows.lol
As far as doing Tulum on your own, you are a very experienced traveler
and know how to factor things into the time in port. There are not many
people I would feel comfortable telling them it is ok to do this on
their own. Even though we have cruised often, I would not feel
comfortable doing Tulum from Coz. on our own.
Geez, this is making me think it might be time to start planning a land
trip to Mexico to see more of the Mayan Ruins.lol
