We've stayed at three different hotels in the Waikiki area. Two were
part of the Ohana Chain (Ohana Mallea Sky Court and the Ohana Malia)
and the other was the Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki (close to where you
stayed before). All three appeared to be handicapped accessible and
provided reasonably good value.
If you're hanging around for a day or so, consider a trip to the
Polynesian Cultural Center. We usually get there on "The Bus" but
considering your circumstances I would suggest booking transportation
through your hotel.
