Subject: Re: BRINGING ALCOHOL ONTO PRIDE OF AMERICA Posted on: Sun, 15 Jul 2007 04:05:12 +0000 (UTC)

NCL looks through all check baggage and will hold back luggage with
alcohol or what they suspect to be alcohol. They will send you a
letter to your stateroom indicating they have your bag and that you
are either a) able to pay a $15 per bottle corkage fee - they will put
a sticker on your booze so you are able to bring it anywhere around
the boat or b) will hold it for you till the end of the cruise to take
home if you do not want to pay the fee.

Although, in the ports it seemed like you could carry on any amount of
spirits as you wanted due to the fact that NCL was not actually
checking the carry on bags, it is farmed out to a third party by the
pier. That may be your best way . . . I have never been on a cruise
where they have so many "contraband" bags in plane sight the first day
- not the best way to begin a weeks vacation . . .
