It's not the continental service you'll get on other lines. It's more
informal. If you want staff who don't dare to presume that they're at
least potentially your social equals, don't go on NCLA.
I'm slightly post-hippy, so having a non-obsequious staff is not a
problem for me. Everything except the organization of the buffet
worked well. Others have reported less luck, so it might depend on
your location on the ship and your cabin class.
I'm thinking of going back, on either the Thanksgiving voyage of the
Pride of Hawaii or its final cruise Honolulu-Los Angeles in January.
Prices are good on the T-Day trip, not so much so on the Honolulu-LA
trip (about twice what another NCL ship is charging for a similar trip
in September).
