One thing to remember -- HAL and other big ship cruises do not actually STOP
anywhere in Antarctica. You drive by and look - a sad substitute for
smelling penguin
guano on your boots!

Smaller, and more expensive lines (Lindblad is the best), make Zodiac
landings -- usually two a day. They offer different and a vastly better
experience.
