Subject: Re: No Main Dining Room Service for Lunch on Celebrity Port Days Posted on: Sat, 21 Jul 2007 05:23:01 EDT

A very glib reply to a valid issue. The point I am making is that on a
"full service" cruise ship, especially
Celebrity, which projects itself in style and service to be at the top
level class of the main stream cruise lines, it is not
acceptable to not offer a sit-down served lunch to those passengers, often
elderly, who prefer that
service to the bustle, jostle, and often grim food, of the mid-day buffet.
On Summit, which has a large,
two-level main dining room, it would certianly be feasible to have one
section open on post days.
I will grant you however, that the service in the buffet on Summit was
similar to what finds on
Crystal and Seabourne: cloth tray covers, carry service to the table from
the end of the line,
and waiter service to fetch coffee, tea, and water. Still, it is an issue
that might detract some serious
cruisers from using Celebrity.
