BD,
Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity are all competitively priced. The way
they can advertise a deal like you saw is with a limited number of
seats at that price, kind of what the consolidators do. If you are in
the right place at the right time you get that deal. They're telling
the truth but fares at that price were gone by the time you got there.
I would try looking for a hotel & air package (even if you don't need
the hotel), sometimes they're cheaper because the hotel can deep
discount but the airlines can't.
Another option is to book travel like I do through my own travel
website (whose search engine IS Travelocity). I get to travel as a
referring travel agent at travel agent prices OR earn commission on my
own travel. You can go to my website at www.simplylifetravel.vacationmedia.net
to find out more.
Good luck and happy traveling.
