Only a day or five late... and more than a dollar short. In your haste to
post a PR five days after it was released, you couldn't bother to follow up
with the additional information that was sent by Royal Caribbean directly to
all legitimate travel agents. Or maybe you didn't get it.

FWIW -

Smoking is not permitted in cabins but is permitted on private
balconies.

Smoking is going to be allowed in the casinos... but there will be
non-smoking tables.

The Royal Promenade and all shops will be non-smoking.

No smoking in ANY dining area... inside or outside.

People who smoke in their cabins will be charged a $250 cleaning fee that
will be charged to their shipboard account. Repeat violations of the new
rules will be handled according to the Guest Conduct Policy, including
possible disembarkation.

The smoking policy of Celebrity and Azamara have not changed.

I uploaded the FAQ that Royal Caribbean sent to legitimate travel agents
http://01895cb.netsolhost.com/07008603_Smoke_policy_FAQS.pdf just in case
you don't see it in "the trades".

I think Royal Caribbean is trying to walk a fine line. They are trying to
eliminate smoking on their ships without totally alienating smokers. Like
any compromise, some smokers and non-smokers will be up in arms about it....
you can't come up with a policy that will satisfy everyone.... but they are
giving it a try.

FWIW... I haven't had anyone cancel a Royal Caribbean cruise because of this
policy change... so far.
