Bingo... but you won't get many readers of r.t.c. to believe that. I
seldome get any new customers from r.t.c. Once in a while I get an inquiry
from someone who has read a post I made, but 99% of my new customers come
from referrals from my established customers. My advertising budget is next
to nothing. That is kind of why the SPAM discussions are so funny to me.
If a travel agent says he is building his business based on what he posts
here, I kind of have to take that with a grain of salt.
I do get more emails from people who have booked online with one of the big
companies (Expedia or Travelocity) who have a question about their cruise
and can't get the answers from their online agency. Most of the time I take
a few seconds to help them if possible with a gentle invitation for them to
call me when they book their next cruise.
FWIW... r.t.c. is not an effective way for a travel agent to build a
customer base.
