Ya' know, Tobie, it's strange how things work out. Here I was
all ready to ask John if he'd put together a Christmas cruise
for the Nonny family. . . and now find out that he doesn't
want to deal with me. Wow, I really am saddened and will just
have to struggle with someone else. Whatever happened to that
John Szeto guy? Is he still a travel professional? I
associate the two Johns, for some reason.
My original post to John was as much of an actual query as it
was fun. I really hoped that he'd tell us if he got legitimate
clients because of his many reposts to the newsgroup, despite
being asked repeatedly to stop. My instinct tells me that
despite his claims of lurkers from r.t.c. lining up to give
him business, that he really might not be actually getting any
business from the newsgroup. My instinct is that his
irritating posts and fights with so many of the nice people
here are counterproductive to business, and he just doesn't
care. That would make me personally concerned doing business
with him, since I prefer to deal with folks who care about how
they are perceived.
Well, Tobie, Jean, Erm and Charles, it's time for me to
retreat and lick my wounds. To the best of my knowledge, I've
never been actually placed on a travel agent's "not a welcome
customer here" list, and especially one where I've never
desired to do business. Sure, I've been kicked off most major
cruise lines, been banned from all hotels except for the
Salvation Army and am especially limited in restaurants, food
stores, cleaners and auto dealers that will accept my
business. However, for John to exclude me. . . wow!
