On my other post I mentioned that we had stayed at Loews and that you should
rent a car. However it appears that you really would prefer not to so
Iwould like to offer another suggestion.
If you take a shuttle, why not just go to Coronado and then take the Old
Town Trolley. Goes all over San Diego including the zoo and Old Town. One
of the stops is in Coronado and then take it for the day and you can get on
and off at your leisure. Would beat taking the water taxi to San Diego and
then having to walk or take some other means to see anything. You can go to
their web site www.oldtowntrolley and there is a map and lots of other
information. We did this a few years ago but not when we stayed at Loews
and really enjoyed it and had a great sightseeing day. My preference would
still be to rent a car and then spend some time in La Jolla. I hope you
have a great time whatever you decide.
