Hi,
We did the shore excursons that Oceania offered in every port along the
Amazon. Mostly did our own thing in the islands since we have cruised
the Caribbean many times.
Brian Ford was one of the lecturers on our cruise. But be sure to attend
any lectures that are offered.
We have done over 50 cruises since 1968 and the Amazon cruise will
always stand out as one of the best for us. The ship is beautiful and
the food and service was outstanding. Don't forget to try the afternoon
teas. I think I enoyed those as much as I did the meals.
Polo offers a 32 ounce steak as well as smaller steak and lobster on
every menu. Now where else can you get that? In the Italian estaurant ,
there is more food than I could possibly eat. And the man dining room
food was also very very good.
The show lounge is small and if you are inerested in the shows I would
get there early for good seating. There will be local talent brought on
board at the ports in Brazil. We were fortunate to have a family from
Australia as entertainers on our cruise. They were some of the best
entertainment we have ever had on a cruise. I hope they keep bringing
them back and that you can enjoy them too.
I have kept all my notes on the cruise and hope to have time to write a
webpage about that experience.
