NCL's official policy used to be that if you are booked and the fares go
down BEFORE final payment, they will re-price your reservation at the lower
price. Now they have special promos and it seems that these policies don't
apply.
No matter how it is booked, once the final payment has been made, if the
fares go down, they will NOT honor the new fare. Period. I have talked
through 4 layers of supervisors, administratiors, yield management people
and executives.... and the most they ever did was offer an upgrade.
Companies like Carnival, Princess, Royal Caribbean, etc... all will honor
lower fares after the final payment has been made.
As each week goes by, I am finding more and more reasons to encourage people
to book any cruise line instead of NCL.
(Case in point - a customer sent four $500 Compass Rewards certificates to
NCL to be applied to two cabins. They applied three of them... and the
fourth seemed to dissappear into thin air. After numerous calls, it was
found on someone's desk. It had not been applied because the name on the
certificate was A. Customer and the name on the reservation was Albert
Customer. Of course, the other three certificates were approved... but for
some reason, not the fourth one. Meanwhile, the final payment was due and
NCL's suggestion was that the customer pay the $500 and they would work out
the Compass Reward later. Uh-uh... no way. They finally did process the
certificate... on the day the final payment was due.)

The NCL defenders are becoming few and far in between.
