For underwear, tee-shirts, and socks, use those vacuum pack devices to
cut back on luggage size. Bring plenty, and throw it away when dirty, as
it costs more to have these items laundered than it costs to buy them
new at Costco.

I don't mind doing laundry on vacation, but what I've read about the
cruise ships laundry rooms is that they are almost constantly in use by
passengers, even at odd hours, so it's very hard to be able to actually
use them.
