I've just done a comparison and the result is very enlightening.
My usual Oz TA is quoting A$5199 for an oceanview cabin on Celebrity
Infinity, Buenos Aires/Valparaiso which includes cruise, return
airfares and one night at the Sheraton Libertador in B.A. in March
next year.
VTG offers the same cruise, an oceanview cabin, for AUD $1923.
When I add return airfares - approx A$3000 and a hotel - approx A$150,
I'm better off booking with my local TA and I don't have the hassle
of booking flights, hotel, etc.
So I guess VTG is great if you're on the spot - but it seems it's not
for me.
