Some cruise lines are better than others about this and I have not
done Carnival, but most of the time (unless the computers are 'down'),
then they will know that you filled out the form and will be able to
find and retrieve it during the boarding process. This will make it
MUCH faster.
Actually, in some cases if you don't fill out the form on line IIRC,
you have to arrive some minimum amount of time (4 hours?) before the
ship leaves so that they can clear you manually at the dock.
The other advantage is that you find out what kinds of things you will
need to present when embarking (like a passport, and in some cases
this will lead you to check that it hasn't expired).
The only disadvantage I can see is that you may not get your luggage
tags mailed to you - they may just send them in a email and you have
to print them out and laminate them or something. |
