Princess Tours Celebrates National Tourism Week With New Motorcoach
Designs
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, May 13
Princess Tours is kicking off National Tourism Week in Alaska this
week with the unveiling of new exterior artwork on its motorcoaches.
The coaches are the first in the industry to feature specific designs
themed for the communities they serve. This is the 25th year the
Travel Industry Association (TIA) has sponsored National Tourism Week
to highlight the positive impact tourism has across the country.

Princess Tours' new motorcoach designs feature three different scenes
showcasing the unique activities, events and visitor attractions in
Anchorage, Denali Park and Fairbanks. The Anchorage coach (photo
provided) includes images of urban wildlife, backpacking, flightseeing
and biking.
Eight of the Princess motorcoaches serving Alaska visitors this summer
were refurbished with a laminate overlay designed by Porcaro
Communications of Anchorage and installed by Auto Trim Design of
Fairbanks.
"Alaska is one of five states receiving the most economic impact from
the cruise industry, hosting roughly 1 million of the state's 1.6
million visitors last year," said Bruce Bustamante, vice president for
community and public affairs for Princess Tours. "Nationally the
industry generates nearly 340,000 jobs in the U.S. and the cruise
lines' direct spending on U.S. goods and services totals more than $17
billion."
"Alaskans appreciate Princess' commitment to our state and their
demonstration of it with these eye-catching picturesque coaches," said
Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich. "The city's strong partnership with the
visitor industry benefits residents and tourists alike."
Princess Tours is the largest cruise and tour operator in Alaska,
employing more than 2,000 people during the busy summer season. In
addition to its fleet of deluxe motorcoaches, the company owns and
operates five riverside lodge properties, ten luxury rail cars and
will operate eight cruise ships in Alaska waters in 2008. Princess
Tours also provides turnaround services and shore excursions for
Princess ships in Alaska and offers land packages for western Canada
and the Canadian Rockies that can be combined with Alaska cruises. For
