If you wear a Sari for your formal wear as long as it isn't gold
embroidered silk, most are made of wash and wear fabrics. You can just
throw it in the coin-op or laundry facilities and it will be fine.
Likewise if you adopt a simple Egyptian style dress, a long
semi-transparent sheath with a classic Egyptian color. Although usually
100% Egyptian cotton, it can be machine washed as long as the setting is
on Cold Wash and Low Heat Dry. I think that either look very elegant on
a woman, even if she is not of the ethnicity of the garment. Ancient
Greek inspired attire would be great if it weren't for the lasting
impression that "Animal House" has made on the world psyche.
