Hi Nonny
We also have a neighbor who checks our house regularly when we are away. We
don't get mail delivery to the door, but I leave a note in our slot in the
group mail location and, if it gets too full while we're gone our mailman
leaves a key in our box for the larger bin. So far, it has worked
marvously. Of course, we do leave him a little extra at Christmas.
We have never had anything go wrong while on holidays, but when I looked out
in the back yard yesterday, someone had come in and stripped our small apple
tree. I would have given them the apples, if they had only asked. At least
they didn't damage the tree.
Stuff like that really pisses me off. They weren't even ripe yet.
