December is December......winter, yes, even in the Mediterranean and
the islands of Greece.
I speak from personal experience, I live there.
You will find some days to be mild and with a sun that will warm you,
temps for a few hours at mid-day into high 60's.......nights will be
rather cold, however.
But......you cannot count on it being that way continually. You should
be prepared for days of sleety rain, chill winds, and cloudy and grey
skies.......temps in the 40's to 50's, which with a wind chill factor
can really get you to shivering unless dressed for it.
Take a collapsable (folding) umbrella, warm clothing ....and yes, a
cap, for when the wind is blowing both on deck and for your land
excursions.
You can always peel the sweater and jacket off to get down to shirt
sleeves when the temps are warm, but if you don't have warm enough
clothes for the winter season, you won't enjoy your trip.
Hopefully, you will have enough mild and sunny days that will make you
happy that you chose the winter season to do your "touristing" thus
avoiding the very hot temps of summer not to mention you have the
advantage of not having to share the areas you visit with multitudes of
summer travelers.
I have no doubt you can have a wonderful time, and you will, just be
prepared clothing wise.
