Following a notice dated 2 November 2007 in which it disclosed the
findings from the new mapping Akti Engineering company specialized in
the wreck of the cruise "SEA DIAMOND", the Louis plc would like to
inform the following:
The Hydrographic Service of the Hellenic Navy, which is the
responsible official state body in Greece, has in turn to new mapping
of the area and finding confirms the findings of fully Akti
Engineering. More specifically, the results of the measurements made
by the Hydrographic Office confirmed that the reef which created the
"SEA DIAMOND" is 131 meters from the coast only 57 and not measures
such as incorrectly reflected in the official maritime map in which
all were equipped ships. According to the same map, at the point where
the impact happened, the depth of the sea presented to be 18 to 22
rather than 3.5 meters to 5 meters, as in reality.
These findings justify the official positions over the past year the
owner of the cruise argues that under the then current official map,
the process follows the "SEA DIAMOND" in his approach to the
attachment point specified in Santorini was absolutely safe.
The owner and manager of the "SEA DIAMOND" express their satisfaction
as the full confirmation from the Hydrographic Service also vindicates
their position to defend from the very first moment the abilities,
skills and experience Master, officers, crew and the Greek naftosynis
