You mean some doctors don't agree. A little less than two thirds in
this article want a public and private option, and this might be okay if
it remained that way, but I believe if a government-run option is
available for anyone, no private company will be able to compete.
Eventually, government health care would become the only option. Less
than 10% of the doctors surveyed wanted a public option only. None of
the doctors that I have talked with at my hospital want a public option
only. Nearly all of them, however, had tort reform first on their wish
list. A lot of medical costs stem from a CYA attitude. The malpractice
insurance for the doctors I work for quadrupled in just a couple years.
You can't find many OB-GYN practices in our area because of the cost
of malpractice.
