Typically the prices are roughly 10% to 15% higher, with the bump
percentage increasing as you go up in category (10% for and inside,
15% for a suite). This pays for the bands and such. The cruise lines
usually put these cruises together, but sell using all of their
regular routes (ie, I can sell and get a commission). About 4 months
ago there was a jazz cruise on one of the Fantasy class ships.
Carnival also has had NASCAR cruises and a few years ago had an MLB
cruise.
The problem for the consumer that doesn't use an agent is you probably
don't hear about these sorts of things. Since you probably have the
two press release folks kf'ed, you won't hear them here.
