This is just newspaper spin on "trains busier over Xmas", it's no different
from a story about "hotels charging more during Oktoberfest" or "airlines
raising fares during July/August".
As to the extended journey times, whilst there ought to be some financial
way of compensating the passanger, the actual cause of the dealy is nothing
to do with the train operators and everything to do with the HSE imposing
unnecessarily 'safe' rules on engineering work that no other country in the
world thinks necessary.
