Not exactly. People usually pay above the odds for wine and drinks in a
restaurant- just that water seems silly, when they drink tap water at
home.

Funny world you live in. I thought we were talking about restaurants
here- people spend money on other things- and I don't recall seeing
anyone in the US (where water in restaurants is ubiquitous) occupying
seats for that long just drinking water...

What do you drink when you occupy a seat in a Dutch restaurant for an
hour waiting for service?
