That was probably before the current obsession with terrorism. I know others who
have done the same on the same route. I don't know anybody who has started a
trip with an expired passport especially to somewhere like Germany.
I have changed flights at Gatwick without going through any controls on a flight
from Toulouse to A'dam, The plane was late arriving from Toulouse and I was
taken by car directly from one plane to the other. Only when the second plane
was in the air was I asked for a boarding card which I didn;t have.
