I disagree totally although I have never gone boating on the Thames.
Of course if youcan run a little skiff like this for a few hundred km
I might consider it.
Cruise on the Nile: Wake up, shower, have leasurely breakfast and set
off for morning tour, Back to boat for lunch and rest, then off for
afternoon tour.
Get back on boat after afternoon tour, grab quick shower and then sit
in the shade on the top deck having tea and cake. Oh, and watching
the other poor tourists climbing onto their coaches for another hour
or two (or three) untill they got to the next hotel.
Definately a great way to be a tourist. No need to pack and unpack,
sit on a coach for hours etc. Instead you have a decent stateroom,
lounge, swimming pool, dining room etc travelling with you.
