April 25 is Liberation Day, celebrating the end of WWII. It's also
usually one of the spring holiday "bridges" when many people take short
vacations. This year, with Easter being "low" in March when weather is
not yet so good, and with April 25 on a Friday, it's likely to be the
first real "bridge".
It's not really one of those days where everything is closed, like
Christmas and May 1st. More alike a normal Sunday. Museum opening may
vary according to places, but I expect in tourist area most sights and
shops be open, since tourists will be coming.
There might be official commemorations with demonstrations (it depends
which government we will have at the time :-), the bald dwarf has never
been keen on April 25, but his opponents are). In a "red" region like
Tuscany (and particularly Livorno), I expect they will be taking place
very quietly and be crowded.
