Could be a good time for Switzerland but possibly not for the alps as it's
likely to be in the not so pleasant snow-melting time lasting, depending on
altitude until mid-June.
Earlier if you want winter conditions, later if you want summer hiking but
not May there're good reasons why so many Alp hotels are closed that time.
