I had a slightly unusual route for my summer trip, and I was
considering
all manner of options looking around for the "best" fare. What was
interesting was that often there were "low" fares through either
Gatwick
or Heathrow but once the various fees and taxes were added, they often
rose by a good 25- 30%. This freqently made them more expensive than
competitive routes through Madrid or Paris. (which admittedly weren't
"fee free", merely siginificantly lower). It is fortunate that many
ticket
vendors display both ticket price and final costs. I don't always
find that
to be true, or at least until one moves further into the purchase
process. |
